Wayne Rooney thinks Tottenham have dropped into the Premier League relegation tussle.
Spurs lost 2-0 to Manchester United on Saturday, leaving them without a win in seven Premier League matches.
Thomas Frank's team mustered just one shot on target at Old Trafford, where captain Cristian Romero received a straight red card in the first half.
Their poor run has left Spurs in 15th on 29 points, just six above a resurgent West Ham, who occupy 18th place, and Rooney feels the Europa League champions, who finished 17th last term, are in a scrap to stay up.
"You'd have to say they are [in a relegation battle] with their current form," he said on The Wayne Rooney Show, as quoted by BBC Sport.
"West Ham have been in form, Nottingham Forest pick up results here and there.
"You can't think that they're not in a relegation battle where they are. I think they'll definitely be looking over their shoulders.
"I feel for Thomas Frank because he looks tired, he looks like he's aged 10 years.
"That's what that Tottenham job has done to him in a short period of time. I hope they stick with him because he's a fantastic manager, but I think it's going be very difficult for them to do that."
Could Spurs really go down?
Opta's predictive model does not forecast Spurs to be dragged into the bottom three by the end of the season, with just a 2.3% chance of them going down.
The supercomputer hands Spurs only a 14.3% probability of finishing in the top half.
Spurs are on their third winless run of at least seven league matches since the start of last season. Previously, they had not gone as many games without a win since May-October 2008 (nine).
Frank's team host out-of-form Newcastle United on Tuesday.
