ARSENAL and Newcastle fans declared “bullet dodged” as they tore into Benjamin Sesko’s “embarrassing” Manchester United cameo at Grimsby.
The £74million striker had a stinker as he made his full debut in Wednesday’s shock Carabao Cup defeat.
Sesko missed several sitters during United’s clash against the League Two side.
And his failure in front of goal was compounded by a dismal overhead kick that resulted in him crashing to the ground.
Arsenal and Newcastle fans were particularly smug about Sesko’s failures after being strongly linked with moves for him this summer.
The Gunners were hoping to do business with RB Leipzig before settling on the more experienced Viktor Gyokeres.
Newcastle then came close to signing Sesko before United hijacked the deal with a big-money bid.
And supporters of the two clubs were quick to mock the forward’s efforts.
One said: “Bullet dodged.”
Another declared: “Remember, no refunds.”

One noted: “He always scores when there’s no ball involved.”
Another added: “Leipzig always scam teams with their strikers.”
To make matters worse, Sesko was surrounded by fellow new forwards Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo for most of the match.
The trio cost £207m to assemble this summer.
And United looked to be cashing in when Mbeumo pulled a goal back at 2-0 down.
However, Cunha missed his penalty which would have won the game.
While Mbeumo smashed his against the crossbar, confirming Grimsby as surprise victors.
Fans added: “The fact Sesko missed from 2 yards out and BOTh Cunha and Mbeumo missed penalties makes this 10x better.”
Another boomed: “One goal combined after three games is diabolical.”

As a United fan, I won't even mind if Sesko doesn't score in his first five games. If his passes and gameplay looks good with the team that leads to a goal then that is enough. He will surely succeed at United though.
