Arsenal are spending an incredible £150million less than Manchester United on wages - despite having seasons of contrasting success.

The North London club's yearly wages have decreased by £34m in 2021-22 from the previous year - as well as the number of employees also falling.

This is positive news for the Gunners as, despite forking out less money this season, the club are having their best ever start to a Premier League campaign.

Arsenal are currently spending £205,482,000 on staff wages per year compared to the £239,830,000 last season but this has not shown on the pitch.

Mikel Arteta's men have surpassed all expectations so far as they sit on top of the Premier League table with 37 points - and 12 wins - from a possible 14 games.

Big summer signings Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko have made a huge impact on the side and despite their wages, Arsenal are still saving money.

Arsenal's yearly staff wage is even more impressive when compared to their Premier League rivals, Manchester United.

The Red Devils are spending £150m more per year than Arsenal, however this has not been reflected in their performances.

Unlike Arsenal, United have not yet had a clear-out of players on big wages who aren't seeing much game time.

The move of Cristiano Ronaldo could trigger an exodus with more high-earners being linked with a move away from Old Trafford - including Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

As well as this, several of United's biggest-earners have not met expectations on the pitch.

Jadon Sancho,  Harry Maguire and Anthony Martial are among some of United's top earners but haven't been able to consistently put in performances that the Old Trafford faithful are after.
