Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his squad ahead of his side's title push.

The Gunners have been linked with Diaby in the past and could swoop in as they look to move on from the disappointment of losing their top target Mykhailo Mudryk to Chelsea.

The highly-rated Shakhtar Donetsk winger had looked destined for north London but the Blues swooped in and completed the £88million deal, with the 22-year-old penning an eight-and-a-half-year contract.

Having been frustrated by Mudryk snubbing the Gunners, Arteta has turned his attention to Diaby, according to Sky Germany.

Diaby, who can play on either flank, began his career at PSG before securing a move to the Bundesliga in 2019.

Since his move to Germany, Diaby has racked up 43 goals and 41 assists across 146 appearances.

One thing Arsenal would have to contend with is that the 23-year-old - who has been capped eight times for France - has a contract at Leverkusen until 2025, pushing his value up even higher.

Diaby has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League previously. In fact, Newcastle had been preparing a £50million move for Diaby in the summer but Leverkusen valued him closer to £75million at the time.

Arteta is in hot pursuit of a winger and Arsenal have also got their eyes on Barcelona winger Raphinha.

The Catalan giants are open to selling the ex-Leeds forward during the January window but only if the interested party agrees to a £100million fee, according to Diario Sport.

The reports claim that Barcelona president Joan Laporta is willing to 'negotiate a transfer package' for Raphinha - but his price tag may be problematic for the Gunners.

Arsenal beat Tottenham 2-0 in Sunday's North London derby to go eight points clear at the top of the league, but face a tough test against Manchester United on Sunday.

Arteta is hoping to reinforce his squad to to help the Gunners secure their first Premier League title in 19 years.
