Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is set to promote Omari Hutchinson and could hand the youngster his Premier League debut after Brazil legend Pele claimed the teenagers' 'freestyle skills' were amazing.
Hutchinson, 18, could be next in line for the Gunners with Arteta never been one to shy away of giving youth a chance at the Emirates Stadium.
The attacking midfielder has been named amongst Arsenal's substitutes on several occasions, but it yet to make his first team debut under the Spaniard.
That could well change, though, with Hutchinson named on the bench ahead of Arsenal's clash at home against Brentford, in place of Gabriel Martinelli who is suspended following a red card licked up in the win over Wolves.
Arteta has given the likes of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe the chance to shine, and both have thrived under the managers guidance and proved they have what it takes at the highest level.
Charlie Patino is another who has been given the opportunity having made his bow earlier in the season, with Hutchinson set to follow suit.
He has been amongst the substitutes three times this campaign, against Burnley in the league, Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup and Liverpool in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Hutchinson met Pele at a futsal tournament hosted by the World Cup winner in south London, and left the Brazilian 'speechless'.
'We finished the tournament and all the teams came round in a huddle, and the F2 Freestylers came out and started showcasing their skills,' Hutchinson told Goal in 2021.
'They asked one member from each team to come out and do a skill and all the boys were saying 'go on Omari, go on!'
'So I went up there and did it. They gave me the ball and I just started doing my skills. When we got a picture with Pele afterwards, he said something like 'that was amazing' in his Brazilian accent.
'Then later on that night, Jeremy Lynch from the Freestylers called my mum and said he wanted to do a video with us.
'So I did the video and it just went viral from there.'
Hutchinson has netted five goals and contributed to five assists in 13 Premier League 2 matches so far this season, and also scored twice in four Papa John's Trophy outings.
He also impressed after the Gunners' under-23 side came from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 against Leicester, with Hutchinson heading home in stoppage time whilst setting up the other two.
Should he be given the opportunity this weekend, then the youngster will grab the chance with both hands and look to prove his worth on the biggest stage of all.
