A quiet June has turned into a busy July for Arsenal, who have already completed the signing of three new players and are now closing in on four more signatures
Arsenal's summer may have been stagnant for a while, but it is now kicking into gear.
Since the beginning of July the Gunners have completed transfers for Kepa Arrrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard, and there are now three more new arrivals on the way as Mikel Arteta shapes his squad for the new season.
And after June brought the good news of new contracts for Gabriel and Myles Lewis-Skelly, progress has now been made on an another new deal that will delight Gunners fans.
So firstly, the one on everyone's lips. Viktor Gyokeres is now finally closing in on a Β£63.6million move from Sporting Lisbon after the Gunners' new sporting director Andrea Berta struck a deal with both the club and the former Coventry City forward's agent.
Complications had arisen due to agent's fees and Sporting's determination to drive a hard bargain, but the Gunners are now confident of concluding their deal for the Sweden forward who has scored 97 goals in 102 games in Lisbon.
Next comes Noni Madueke, by no means a popular addition for the Gunners in the eyes of some, but a player who Mikel Arteta has been determined to add to his squad since the start of the summer.
Such has been Madueke's desire to join the Gunners that he was prepared to walk out on Chelsea before the Club World Cup final, and he is now expected in north London to undergo his medical and become the sixth player Arteta has signed from Chelsea during his time in charge.
Next comes Cristhian Mosquera, the 21-year-old centre-back from Valencia who has agreed personal terms with the Gunners, according to The Athletic.
Mosquera is another player who has been on the radar of the Gunners since the start of the summer, and Arsenal would doubtless have liked to complete the transfer earlier only to run into complications over the final fee involved.
Mosquera is seen as cover for first-choice centre-back pairing Gabriel and William Saliba, but he did play in all but one of Valencia's 38 La Liga games last season and so will certainly be eyeing his fair share of time on the pitch.
Last but not least it isn't a new signing Arsenal are closing in on completing, but instead it is a new deal for the talented teenager Ethan Nwaneri after his breakthrough term last season.
There had been concerns that Nwaneri would be looking to leave the Gunners to seek more playing time elsewhere, with clubs in Germany monitoring him, but progress has been made and it is now hoped that a final agreement can be struck this week.
