Arsenal have made contact with Chelsea over the potential signing of winger Noni Madueke.
The Gunners were reported to have agreed personal terms with the England international over a five-year contract over the weekend.
Arsenal have now contacted Chelsea ahead of attempting to agree a fee for the 23-year-old.
Madueke, 23, was a first-team regular at Chelsea under Enzo Maresca last season.
He featured in 32 of Chelsea's 38 Premier League games - starting in 27 of them - and provided seven goals and three assists.

Some of Arsenal’s bids or negotiations are diversionary. Arsenal know who they want to sign but in the present transfer market where greedy clubs play hard to get , smart clubs won’t want to put all their eggs in one basket. Madueke is a good player waiting to be properly guided and deployed. Looking at what Arteta did with players like Saka and Martinelli, it appears Madueke’s career will be better served by a transfer to Arsenal. He is surely one for the future but as he must have learnt, Ch Lara has no patience for such.
