Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres reconciles with girlfriend, who he 'dumped to secure £64m Premier League transfer'

Arsenal star Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly reconciled with his girlfriend Ines Aguiar, after splitting with the actress last summer ahead of his £64million transfer.

Portuguese outlet TV Guia had reported that Gyokeres ended the relationship after deciding he 'didn't want anything to tie him to Portugal' ahead of a big money move.

The split came amid a drawn out transfer to Arsenal, with Sporting Lisbon having threatened him with disciplinary action after he failed to report to pre-season training in a bid to force through a move.

Gyokeres and Aguiar are now said to have reconciled, with the couple having recently been pictured together at a restaurant in Lisbon.

Aguiar had previously hinted that their relationship was back on after sharing a video of herself attending Arsenal's FA Cup tie against Mansfield from the stands.

The 27-year-old watched on despite Gyokeres remaining on the bench for the duration of Arsenal's 2-1 win at the One Call Stadium.

TV Guia stated that Gyokeres and Aguiar had reconnected after a break apart.

The report added that Gyokeres had wanted to focus on his career and decided to leave his personal life behind in the summer, but their relationship started up again after he settled in London.

Gyokeres and Aguiar had been together for two years, with the couple having started dating during his time at Sporting.

Aguiar, who was recently cast in a new TV show in Portugal, has reportedly been looking to purchase a property in London as well.

Gyokeres has scored 18 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal this season, with 12 coming in the Premier League.

The Swedish forward will be hoping for a memorable end to the campaign as Arsenal chase glory in the Premier League and Champions League.

The Gunners face Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final.

Mikel Arteta's side will then turn their attentions back to the Premier League, where they face Fulham, West Ham, Burnley and Crystal Palace in their final matches of the season.

Arsenal are currently three points clear of Man City, although Pep Guardiola's side have a game in hand.

Gyokeres will then turn his attentions to the World Cup, having played a key role in Sweden qualifying, scoring a hat-trick in their play-off semi-final and netting the winner in the final.
