Stan Kroenke is set to complete his takeover of Arsenal after making a £550million offer for the club.
The American billionaire, who already owns a 67 per cent stake in Arsenal, has agreed to buy out rival Alisher Usmanov in a deal that will see him assume full control at the Emirates Stadium.
Some Arsenal fans have already expressed concerns over the news, with the club's Supporters Trust issuing a statement condemning the move.
Here, Sportsmail's Sami Mokbel gives the lowdown on the controversial takeover.
How much is the takeover worth?
Kroenke's offer to Usmanov is worth just over £600 million - which values Arsenal at £1.8billion. That works out at £29,420 per share. Some Arsenal shares have been traded on the open market for as much as £35,000, which suggests Kroenke has brokered a good deal for himself.
How has he funded the takeover?
Kroenke has used a substantial £557million loan from Deutsche Bank to pay for the takeover. The loan has raised fears from within the Arsenal fanbase that the loan will be loaded onto the club.
So Arsenal will now cease to be PLC?
Once the takeover is complete will switch from being a PLC to a limited company. Essentially the development means Kroenke can register the club in the United States. All of Kroenke Sports Entertainment’s sporting franchises, including the LA Rams, are registered in Delaware.
That must be worrying for Arsenal fans?
Indeed. A large number of supporters are already dubious about Kroenke’s running of the club. The prospect of the club - in a business sense - being run across the Atlantic has filled fans with dread. The lack of transparency - particularly with regards to the club’s finances - will be another huge bone of contention for disgruntled supporters.
So why has Usmanov agreed to sell?
Essentially, he’s admitted defeat. Arsenal’s second biggest shareholder has been constantly prevented from obtaining a place on the board. He’s tried - without success - to have a greater say in the way the club is run but Kroenke has always kept Usmanov at arms length. Finally, Usmanov has given in.
So what implications will this have on the football side?
Time will tell. Truth be told - no-one knows Kroenke’s intentions once he gains total ownership of Arsenal. Supporters will want to see extensive investment into the playing squad. But Kroenke believes in a ‘self sustainable’ financial model.

This kills Aliko Dangote's dream of buying Arsenal as a majority shareholder! Done 😈😈 Kroenke, May what you are up to be fruitful to and for Arsenal FC 🙏🙌

I've been an Adrenal fan my whole life and literally stopped caring 5 years ago.. The club has no ambition till date new manager but same nonsense.. The squad needed big money changes not just for confidence sake but quality additions... then you want Aaron Rambo who has been the most committed player to go to Chelsea. I wish Wenger stayed on and got relegated
