Arsenal were on the wrong end of an incorrect decision

It wasn't a penalty.

It should never have been a penalty.

The tell-tale sign is the West Bromwich defender Kieran Gibbs, who doesn't appeal when the ball strikes the hand of Callum Chambers.

Chambers' hand is tucked into his body, not outstretched, and Mike Dean is in a good position to see that.

It means we had two live games on Sunday and both had controversial wrong calls by experienced officials.

The only defence I can offer — if there is any defence — is that referees have a lot of games over the holiday period too and can be fatigued.

I wonder if there is any coincidence that in both games the decisions were late on in the match, when tiredness can lead to mistakes?

However, they are still mistakes that shouldn't be made.

It didn't alter the score at Selhurst Park, but it did at West Brom.
