Kai Havertz has agreed a five-year deal with Chelsea as the Bayer Leverkusen hot shot moves closer to a summer switch to the Premier League club, according to RMC Sport.

The 21-year-old is one of the most sought-after talents in Europe, having shone for the Bundesliga club since making his debut in the 2016-17 campaign.

Chelsea have been the frontrunners for Havertz's signature, with Frank Lampard keen to add the youngster to a forward line that will include Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech next season.

And according to RMC Sport, Havertz wants to join the west London club, and has agreed personal terms on a five-year deal to make the switch to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea and Leverkusen still have to thrash out negotiations over a fee for the 21-year-old, with the Germans unwilling to lower their £90m valuation of the attacker.

The Blues remain optimistic, though, that a deal can be done in the coming days, with staggered payments preferable for the club.

More to follow.
