Match Events
7' Penalty Goal! Portugal 0-1 Serbia (Tadic)
PENALTY TO SERBIA! Tadic and Gacinovic combine beautifully for the former to release the latter through on goal with only Patricio to beat, and the Wolves keeper rushes out only to bundle Gacinovic over in his attempt to catch the loose ball!
Tadic calmly sends Patricio the wrong way as he dispatches his penalty with aplomb! 1-0 to Serbia, and a huge early blow for Santos’ Portugal as they must now go for broke against one of Europe’s meanest defences!
9' CHANCE! Ronaldo's long shot saved
The Portugal talisman picks up a pass from Danilo in midfield and runs towards the Serbian penalty area before unleashing a fierce drive that Dmitrovic saves at full stretch!
29' Ronaldo goes off injured
In an attempt to catch up to Bernardo Silva’s pass during a quick break, Ronaldo hops instead and goes down on the pitch to the concerns of his team-mates, manager and the fans. He’s being looked at whilst play is carrying on at the other end with Serbia in possession.
42' WHAT A GOAL! Portugal 1-1 Serbia (Danilo Pereira)
Danilo Pereira is given the freedom of the Estadio da Luz as he is allowed to charge forward from inside his own half before letting fly with a rocket of a shot that goes past Dmitrovic, smacks the underside of the crossbar and bounces into the back of the net!
Match Report
Cristiano Ronaldo went off injured as Portugal were held to a 1-1 draw by Serbia in a frantic Euro 2020 qualifier in Lisbon.
A goalless draw with Ukraine in their opening Group B fixture on Friday put the pressure on Portugal heading into Monday's encounter, and their task was made more difficult when Ronaldo appeared to suffer a hamstring injury before the half-hour mark.
Dusan Tadic's penalty had put Serbia ahead early on, though Portugal overcame Ronaldo's injury to level through Danilo Pereira's rasping 42nd-minute strike.

You guys read this!... I have a feeling Ronaldo did what Messi did and I understand now why they both did it. These guys are almost retiring from both national levels and their careers too. 1. When people knew Ronaldo and Messi were both going to be in their respective squads during these international games, a lot of people bought tickets just to watch them play. Mission one accomplished! 2. Just their presence in their national squads makes them help young talent to he exposed to other big teams and big sponsors due to attendance. Mission 2 accomplished. 3. They showed up not to play full time but just for a period of time in order for them not to outshine young talent and they did. Mission 3 accomplished. 4. National duty has a different limit to leagues when it comes to the number of years they can play. They can take longer in leagues and prolong their careers hence their concentration is winning big league cups. 5. There is a much bigger call in their clubs calling next month and it is just wise for them to keep their fitness in check to be fit for those games. These are just few of my perspectives. What do you guys think? I don't think they ran away, they actually played it well
