Barcelona are happy with their current midfielders and are not going to sign Saul. Mundo Deportivo suggest that this has been confirmed by the sources from within the club.

The Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo quote their sources from Football Club Barcelona who claim that the Blaugrana do not intend to offer €110 million for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez.

Earlier, Madrid-based media outlet Diario AS reported that Barcelona are very committed to the idea of acquiring Saul's services as they have been working on the transfer 'for months'.

The original article suggested that the La Liga champions were aware of the 24-year-old's high price and were willing to make him the most expensive Spanish player in history.

Mundo Deportivo are claiming that Barcelona's decision to refuse from pursuing Saul comes from their confidence in Arthur Melo, Carles Alena and Sergio Busquets, the expected rise of Riqui Puig, and Frenkie de Jong's arrival in summer.

The club understand that there is enough quality in the midfield and prioritize the signings of a left-back and central forward also keeping an eye on Ajax's Matthijs de Ligt.
