Police seize drugs with Ronaldo's face emblazoned on during cocaine raid

A photo of Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo was featured on the packaging of the drugs, worth roughly £3,500

Drugs worth £3,500 emblazoned with a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo on their packaging have been seized in France.

Police in Bouches-du-Rhone in southern France seized 517 grams of cannabis resin and 50 grams of cocaine from a suspected dealer in an apartment with a combined street value of €4000.

And in a bizarre twist, the cannabis packaging had been branded with recent photos of Ronaldo in action for Juventus !

The former Real Madrid and Manchester United star is used to having his image used on expensive products, but not exactly in this way.

It is unclear exactly why Ronaldo's picture featured on the packaging.

After being arrested in Marseille, the suspect was taken directly to custody and will stand trial on January 21.

It is not the first time a football superstar has been used by drug smugglers.

A year ago, police in Lima, Peru found a huge stash of cocaine packaged with a photo of Lionel Messi about to be sent to Europe.
