Ernesto Valverde’s contract expires on June 30 and so far Barcelona have not discussed renewing the deal with him.
That has led to rumours springing up over his replacement. One has come from Italy. More specifically, Corriere dello Sport. The Italian paper says Barca are observing the evolution of Roberto de Zerbi, a young Italian coach known for having the Barca style.
De Zerbi’s name is known in La Liga because he was a step away from moving to Las Palmas last summer.
In fact, his arrival as a replacement for Quique Setien was sealed but judicial problems with his former side Palermo ended up breaking the deal.
De Zerbi’s style is Barca-like but his CV is weaker than Valverde’s, significantly.
The Italian was ditched by Palermo after three months, finished bottom with Benevento - whom he didn’t get a point with until week 16 of the season, and now is at Sassuolo in eighth place.

For me Barcelona should be judged with its league dominance which there coach had to play a big role as it is a long tournament. only bad result Barca had was against Roma but it's football and it could happen. Similar could have happened to RM against Juve but they went through and eventually won. We wouldn't have said Zidane to be a bad coach then. I also agree coaching Barca is easier because there team play is very strong and they can still do well without key players( not disrespecting Messi) Valverde should be given a long run to judge his performance. changing coaches rapidly doesn't help either.
