Tottenham 1-1 Sheff Utd: VAR can't end Spurs' winless run despite Son's goal

George Baldock cancelled out Son Heung-min's opener as Sheffield United claimed a deserved draw against a lacklustre Tottenham.

Sheffield United shrugged off being on the sharp end of more VAR controversy to claim a deserved 1-1 draw at Tottenham.

Son Heung-min, back in action after his three-match ban for the tackle that left Everton midfielder Andre Gomes with a badly broken ankle was overturned, gave Spurs the lead against the run of play following an Enda Stevens error in the 58th minute.

David McGoldrick saw an equaliser ruled out after John Lundstram – who hit the post during the first half – was adjudged to be offside during the build-up.

Lundstram fires a shot from inside the box that hits the post before the rebound falls to Mousset who has his shot blocked behind for a corner by Davies! Nervy stuff at the back from Spurs.

GOOOALLLL!!!!! TOTTENHAM HAVE SCORED THE OPENER! Alli misplayed a pass to Kane in the box, but it bounced off O'Connell and right into the path of Son who tucked the shot through the legs of Henderson! How fortunate was that for Spurs?!

The initial cross came from Lundstram who was deemed to be offside.. and the goal has been chalked off!

Regardless of your thoughts on the accuracy of VAR, that stoppage took nearly four minutes which is simply not good enough.

Son goes down after little contact in the penalty area, and the referee says no and VAR swiftly agrees.

GOOOALLL!!! SHEFFIELD UNITED BRING THINGS LEVEL! Baldock was played into loads of space down the right and whipped in a cross that somehow missed everyone and wound up in the back of the net! There's a brief VAR check for an offside, but this time the goal stands!
