Ashley Young has been banned for three games after accepting a charge of violent conduct.
Referee Craig Pawson failed to spot the defender elbowing Dusan Tadic in the stomach in an off-the-ball incident in the second-half of Manchester United 's 0-0 draw with Southampton.
TV cameras picked up the incident and Young suffered the same fate as Burnley's James Tarkowski, who has just completed a three-match ban for a similar incident involving Brighton's Glenn Murray.
Young will miss the New Year's Day trip to Everton, the Emirates FA Cup tie at home to Derby County on Friday and the Premier League visit of Stoke City on 15 January.

What a silly and senseless act by young. That was totally unnecessary. He knows the rules, he is an experienced player, he knows Cameras capture every activity or even misdeamenour by any player in the field even after a match. Now this childish and stupid act of his has gotten him 3match ban, at this time the team is hit with injuries and also struggling to keep our momentum. Now that we need every player on board to get back to our winning ways and he knows how important he is for us in the team and in every game. Just like Mourinho said" Some players are just so childish that they never wanna grow up". Its just so ridiculous and annoying.😡😡😡😡
