Match reports:
Emile Smith Rowe lived up to his billing as one of Arsenal's hottest prospects with a superb goal against Atletico Madrid.
Arsenal prospect Emile Smith Rowe scored a superb solo goal to earn his team a 1-1 draw against Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup as Unai Emery was treated to a showcase of the potential in his squad.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder impressed throughout the first of Arsenal's three pre-season friendlies in Singapore and showed just why he is one of the club's most talked-about young players when he scored from outside the box early in the second half.
The goal cancelled out Luciano Vietto's opener for Atletico, who were without the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez but nevertheless exposed Arsenal's defensive frailties on occasion and looked the better organised of the two teams.
Arsenal's young guns failed to fire in the penalty shoot-out, though, with Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah missing their spot-kicks along with Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Atletico triumphed 3-1.
Emery gave valuable minutes to new additions Bernd Leno and Sokratis Papastathopoulos in a side that blended youth and experience, with Alexandre Lacazette looking sharp as he prepared to continue the good form he enjoyed in 2017-18.

The point calculation for ICC table is wrong. For ICC, 1. win within 90 mins game - 3 points 2. win after penalty shootout - 2 points 3. lost after penalty shootout - 1 point 4. lost within 90 mins game - 0 point

Shows that penalties are definitely a skill... youngsters not well drilled enough in them yet, but it matters not at this stage. Chances of them taking pens any real match are very low. Good run out for the guys.

This 4231 shape is not for Arsenal!! It's boring and doesn't lend itself to the expression of Authentic Winning Football!! Keep using this shape Emery and you'll fair no better than Wenger who just copied whatever he saw showed signs of success. Mourinho popularised this shape during his terbble winning time at Inter, but examine the quality he had at his disposal in his back line particularly. To play this system your back line must be exceptional. This shape is defensive first and foremost, and as such expresses fear more than football. Off course you can win matches with it, but the calibre of players required to do so under these constraints are not in Arsenal's back line. I won't mention midfield or front line as Arsenals full contingent hasn't arrived as yet!! Football say's shape is relatively unimportant, but this is when you possess world class quality in all areas on the pitch, or you possess a very well football educated group of professionals whom understand, and can apply as one, the essence of team!! A good test none the less, but take serious note? Football Lives!!! @FeefersFDP
