Atletico 4-0 Real Sociedad: Hosts dominate with Sørloth's epic 4 goals in 30 min

Alexander Sorloth scored all four goals - including the fastest hat-trick in LaLiga history - as Atletico Madrid cruised to a 4-0 rout of Real Sociedad.

The hosts' number nine did the damage inside the opening half an hour as he notched a quickfire quadruple at Riyadh Air Metropolitano.

Sorloth broke the deadlock after just seven minutes with a superb volley from Pablo Barrios' deep cross, while drilling home his second goal from the edge of the box shortly afterwards.

The Swede completed his historic hat-trick in the 11th minute, firing into the roof of the net after Sociedad failed to deal with another cross from the right.

Sorloth made it four on the half-hour mark from Javi Galan's lay-off after a swift counter, while the crossbar denied him a fifth goal from a fierce volley shortly after the restart.

Substitute Angel Correa also went close with Alex Remiro denying him in stoppage time, but it only prevented the scoreline getting worse as Atleti eased to victory and another clean sheet.

The game ultimately belonged to Sorloth, who scored four goals in a LaLiga match for the second time, having also achieved the feat during Villarreal's 4-4 draw with Real Madrid last season.

His opening three goals marked the earliest hat-trick recorded in the Spanish top flight, after just 11 minutes.

The Swede has now netted 13 times in 16 home games this LaLiga season; the highest tally by an Atletico player since Luis Suarez (14) in 2020-21.

Los Rojiblancos extended their unbeaten home streak in LaLiga against Sociedad to 12 matches, with 10 of those resulting in victory.

Meanwhile, the visitors are now without a win in five matches, failing to score in their last three.
