On Saturday, Villarreal will battle it out against Real Madrid in their last LaLiga match of the season, and striker Carlos Bacca praised his opponents for challenging for a third consecutive Champions League trophy.
The Colombian, who has four yellow cards to his name, has not been called-up to face Los Blancos, as coach Javier Calleja does not want to risk the footballer missing out on the opening day of the upcoming campaign.
"It's difficult to win one Champions League, so imagine three consecutive ones," Bacca said in an interview with MARCA.
"Real Madrid will fight for that goal, but there will be another team that also want to be champion."
The former Sevilla man closes the season knowing he has reached his best football since making the switch to the Yellow Submarine.
"The team have been raising the level and they have seen the best Carlos Bacca," he stated.
"The last three or four months have been very important.
"I am happy because I am once again the Carlos Bacca of Sevilla, of Brugge and of Colombia, and that fills me with satisfaction."
Bacca, who will be in the stands of the Estadio de la Ceramica, believes that his teammates will face a fearsome opponent who will want to reach next weekend's final without hesitation.
"They have their head in the final, but they are professionals and will want to win to get to Kiev with enthusiasm," the striker explained.
Bacca has netted 18 goals this season and the Spanish club have the chance to trigger a purchase option with AC Milan, which is set to be 15 million euros.
