The French midfielder is enduring similar struggles in Italy to those he experienced in England, but he is convinced that he can turn his form around
Tiemoue Bakayoko believes he can silence his doubters at Milan after struggling to make his mark following a loan switch from Chelsea.
The France international midfielder moved to Stamford Bridge for £40 million ($51m) in the summer of 2017, but failed to convince during a one-season stint in England.
Maurizio Sarri deemed him surplus to requirements after taking the Blues reins, with Bakayoko allowed to move to San Siro on a deal which includes a permanent purchase option.
Milan have looked unlikely to trigger that clause, with a summer addition enduring a tough time in Serie A, but a much-maligned performer retains full confidence in his ability to turn things around.
Bakayoko told Sky Sport Italia: “I don't like being whistled, but I understand it. I hope they applaud me soon.
“I have done good things but I am only at the beginning. I hope to be decisive and to help Milan re-enter the top four in Serie A.
“Franck Kessie? He has helped me adjust a lot, above all with the language. I hope to speak Italian soon.”
Changing systems in Milan have done little to aid Bakayoko’s cause, but the 24-year-old claims he can alter his game to meet the demands of his manager.
He added: “The 4-4-2 is the formation I prefer, but even in a 4-3-3 I found myself playing well in the last game.
“My position has changed, but I believe that I have done well. I have been able to help the team more.
“I am upset about the result against Juventus, but this is football. I am happy with how I played.”
Bakayoko hopes that working with Gennaro Gattuso can help him to rediscover his form, with there similarities to be found between the Rossoneri boss and his former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.
He added: “Conte and Gattuso are somewhat similar, they give a lot and ask even more from the players, during training and in games.
“They have the same style of training, bringing along ideas of great value.”
Bakayoko has made 12 appearances for Milan so far and is yet to open his goal account for the club.

That is sad, Baka is a good player but he needs to work on his mental toughness and decision making.
I think Mental capacity and work rate is a huge problem with him. Not his fault, the French league is a very complacent league. I've seen teams walk around during matches at times...

I ask my self over and over again how this guy become professional football
stop asking questions that will make people look down on you as a football follower, Baka was doing welling before Chelsea went for him and no body knows his form will become bad as this. Did you watched his 1st match against Spurs at Wembley last season, did you watch him against Athletico in the champions league? Baka will get better with time even if not in Chelsea.

One can only pray that he improves drastically.... There have been like 1 or 2 glimpses of a good player in there but his lazy attitude will be his undoing...
