Balde's More Realistic Option: A Winter Loan Move in Search of Playing Time

Balde is still waiting for a chance to prove himself again. The Barcelona academy product is currently behind in the competition for the left-back spot. He came close to leaving in the summer but ultimately chose to stay and accept a backup role. Now, with the winter transfer window approaching, Sport reports that a loan move is becoming a more realistic option.

Balde understands that to regain the coach's trust, he must prove himself in training and matches and make the most of his limited opportunities. However, both the player and his camp believe that leaving Barcelona in the winter window for a club that can offer regular playing time might be better for his development.

Balde's future also affects Barcelona's winter transfer plans. The club hopes his departure will free up wage space on top of the current salary-cap margin of roughly €4 million, creating the conditions to register new signings in January. Barcelona's sporting department plans to use this room to bring in a left-footed center-back or a versatile full-back, both of whom are priority targets for Flick's squad.
