Barca B team prodigy Inaki Pena, the heir to Ter Stegen

The injury to Jasper Cillessen has created space on Barcelona's bench for the club's B team prodigy Inaki Pena.

At the age of 19, the Spaniard has been called up by Ernesto Valverde for the Blaugrana's Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Real Madrid.

Pena signed for Villarreal in 2009 and two years later he was the best goalkeeper of the Arona Tournament, attracting the interest of several clubs in the country.

Barcelona acquired his services a year later and in his first campaign, he managed to win the league.

In his next couple of seasons, he was dropped to the bench, but he subsequently hit the ground running and won the UEFA Youth League as a regular starter.

He has featured in 28 games with Spain's national sides at youth level and his coach in the under-19s, Santi Denia, has already praised his talent.

"He is a very complete goalkeeper as he has been runner-up in Europe, he has played two European Championships, something that causes him to have that extra experience and an international background," he told MARCA.

"He plays very well with his feet, he understands the game and he is strong in the air.

"He transmits a lot of security, and that for a defence is always important.

"As a person he is a normal guy, he was one of the captains with us and he is loved by his teammates."
