Barcelona President Joan Laporta is starting to feel the pressure. As his economic levers leave Barcelona desperately searching for finance, and the money they put on the pitch fails to repay their investment, the first sounds of discontent with his management are beginning to be heard.
During the match with Granada, as happened two weeks ago against Villarreal, there were chants from the fans calling out Laporta’s management, as Marca report. Laporta fears that this frustration may continue to grow if the situation does not change, and there is a growing tension in the board.
However Laporta will not take any decisions to address their poor form for at least another 10 days. Just over two weeks ago he said that he accepted Xavi Hernandez‘s resignation and decision to remain until the end of the season – precisely because of his reputation. Yet Xavi’s announcement has done nothing to revive their form or their results in recent weeks, and if there is no improvement, then Xavi could be pushed out sooner.
Sporting Director Deco has already highlighted that Barca Atletic coach Rafael Marquez will only be considered in an emergency, but continued struggles against Celta Vigo away next weekend and then Napoli in the Champions League the following midweek may constitute an emergency. If Barcelona do not react in those matches, Laporta will consider taking decisions ahead of time.
Ultimately Xavi’s tenure has served to protect Laporta from criticism for the most part, but as Barcelona’s season begins to disintegrate, and questions are raised about their transfer and financial policy, Laporta will need to manage the coming months carefully. If he gets the decisions of when to sack Xavi and who to appoint for next season wrong, his own continuity could be in question.

He is a terrible coach...he has given enough money to buy player, even when there was no money....they funded him selling club assets....what a terrible financial decision...yes one can argue he won la liga but may be that winning & his legendary status is the only thing keeping him in the job...if it Were anyone else, would hav been sacked already
he won the Laliga because real madrid weren't good enough last season, if they where, Barca wouldn't have won it the way they did, they would have had to put up more fight, a lot 1-0 win shows the we narrowly won that league, the credit I would give Xavi tho, is the fact that Barcelona got the record of the most clean shit in the history of Europe along side Chelsea and also the record of less goals concede in laliga, that's just it. Barcelona fans were praising Xavi last season for his achievement like he was a great coach, he did ok tho but not great, we got knocked out of the UCL in group stage having our full squad intact and also out played home and away by struggling Man U in Europa, if Barca have had inter and struggling Bayern in this season UCL group they would still have gotten knocked out from the group stage, since they couldn't get all 18 point being in an easy group. and also anytime Barcelona faces a small or average team that boldly faces them and attacks with confidence they begin to play rubbish, unable to attack and create chances, Xavi wouldn't be able to do anything to chance the way they are been outplayed by that small or average team, if it where a big team it would have been understandable, but until the opponent are gaining the lead and are all out defending that's when Barcelona will start dominating. a good coach should be about to understand the way a though opponent are outplaying his team, by observation in a few minutes and make some tactical changes or players changes to change the cause of the game, even if the team ends up losing, one would be able to tell that the team played well and the coach did something to try and change the outcome of the game, but no Xavi is not that kind of coach, he just leaves the players their to figure out things themselves and he will then make terrible subs leaving trash players on.
