Ajax have named their price for young and in-demand stars Frenkie De Jong and Matthijs De Ligt, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona are said to be leading the chase for midfielder De Jong, 21, and centre back De Ligt, 19, who have become the backbone of the current Ajax team.

Club officials are reported to have made contact with the representatives of the two Dutch internationals to try and organise a deal.

Now, Mundo Deportivo report that Ajax have set the price for the exciting young duo - €75million for De Jong (£66m) and €65m for De Ligt (£58m).

They also report that Barcelona face significant competition for the signatures of the two players, who are wanted by several other major European clubs.

Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Juventus are among the clubs who have also been linked with moves for De Jong and De Ligt.

De Jong and De Ligt have seen their reputations skyrocket this season amid much improved fortunes for their club and country.

Ajax have qualified for the Champions League knock-out stages for the first time since 2005, while Holland - after missing out on Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup - have reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Nations League.

De Jong has scored twice in 21 appearances in all competitions this season, including in all 10 of their Champions League matches over qualifying and the group stage.

De Ligt meanwhile has been named captain of Ajax despite being a teenager, and has already earned 13 senior international caps.
