Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde has been named All Football Coach of the Month for March.
Valverde leads our All Football Coach of the Month five-man list of nominees, beating Liverpool coach Klopp, Ajax coach Ten Hag & Co to the award with the most votes cast from AFers.
After beating Levante 1-0 at the Camp Nou, Ernesto Valverde has delivered another LaLiga title to Barcelona, and his management of the squad has been perfect this season, showing that he has learnt from the mistakes of the 2017/18 campaign.
The 55-year-old has won the 2017/18 and 2018/19 league titles, a record that only Luis Enrique, Pep Guardiola, Louis van Gaal, Helenio Herrera and Enrique Fernández can match.
Now, his tally is four: two LaLiga, a Spanish Super Cup, a Copa del Rey, and there could be more to come this season.
Roma defeat still hurting, but Valverde already learnt from it, balance and rotate his squad in league and Champions League. After 4-4 Villarreal draw and 0-0 Huesca draw, Barcelona get a crucial win against Atletico in their LaLiga title pursue and reach UCL semis with 3-0 win over Man Utd.
Ernesto Valverde is a different coach, with a different skill set and different priorities. But he's still the man who accomplished a tremendous feat, navigating the trauma of Neymar's departure and succession, managing the veterans -- six of this starting XI are now in their 30s -- and creating the sort of environment that allowed Messi to be Messi.
What Pep Guardiola managed in 2009 and Luis Enrique repeated in 2015, Ernesto Valverde could achieve this season.
Three trebles – league, cup and Champions League – in one decade would be extraordinary. And it would be with three very different coaches.

I believe in this man because he has different tactics that can change the game for good, he is not a one man tactics or one way traffic, he has different formations, 4:4:2, 4:2:3:1, 4:3:3, 3:5:2 formations, he always learn the opposition weakness and exploit them. he is a good coach

I dont know why some Madrid fans are backing Liverpool to beat Barca. I know the rivalry and all but take Man U for instance..they got knocked out and are backing their fellow English team to progress to the final round..Madrid should be doing same 'cause if Barca should win the CL,it means La Liga top teams are still dominant in European football. Truth is i was supporting Madrid in the last CL final..not because i hate Liverpool no,but it proves spanish clubs can be the best despite the criticism. All the same,may the best team win tonight! Congrats to Valverde for winning all football manager of the week. He has helped Barca retained their la Liga title and has made them a beast. In April he has won 6 games and drawn twice, barca have scored 15 goals in April. Congrats to him he deserves it.

I would say Messi won him the prize. As a Barcelona fan if you watch our games without Messi on the pitch you would fall asleep and have to wake up checking the result on the internet, he haven't done any magic on the team, not the pattern of our play or improve Suarez form or the form of the new signings so for me he is not to be hyped in any way. Give those glories to Lionel the son of Messi.

a tactical genius. though I didn't expect him to win among other coaches but to all those who think he is nothing, not every coach has been able to lose 3 matches in 2 seasons and we should remember that Messi has always been in Barca, so saying that his victories are thanks to Messi isn't so fair. he deserves it

Am Barca, no doubt about it. But i think our coach is not good at all. But at the end of the day, all the achievements and failures of the club are always placed on his shoulders. So yeah, he deserves it because we have won games and secured La Liga trophy in the month of April. if we had not secured the trophy last weekend, am sure either the Ajax or Liverpool coach would have won this.

I think Ten Hag deserved to win it because of the massive work he's doing for Ajax, winning the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus and just last night, Tottenham. Also dominating the Edverdise league and showing who's boss Well but Valverde has also shown the football world who's boss and has led Barca to such great heights winning the La Liga and Copa Del Rey with Champions League loading

Valverde is a coach who makes the best out of his squad. He didn't apply the tiki-taka football of Pep because it wouldn't suit the team especially with the departure of Neymar. He found a place where Roberto can thrive. He even went playing to 4-4-2 just to establish the basics and the balance of the team. With the unfortunate incident in Rome last year I believe he and the team learned their lesson. You can't sleep in the UCL! Valverde has a great football mind, I'm looking forward to it come to fruition tonight.

This guy deserves it..I remember after serious criticism especially after the shock defeat to Roma last year..since then he has improved barca tremendously especially in defense.. I thought they used to say atletico can defend,but Valverde has turn barca into something else

It is infuriating to see more than a handful of people who probably haven't played an orange before in their lives become arm-chair critics. It is easy to levy criticism at others with our bucca, but fall well short of their average know-how: Valverde has been quietly doing a breathtaking and quite unparalleled job, though with his lapses as we all mortals do have, but more fans should allot him more respect, which he deserves and stop juxtaposing him with Guardiola or any ex coach, because they are great in their own distinct way. After tonight's game Valverde would be respected more. Forca Barca.
