Barcelona earn €70m in summer sales, target over €100m

According to Sport, Barcelona pushed for player sales in mid-August and have already earned nearly 70 million euros through multiple deals.

In this crucial summer transfer window, focused on balancing the books and strengthening finances, Barcelona have tried to maximize the economic return from each deal by moving on several players while ensuring their long-term sporting plan remains unaffected.

So far, the effect of this strategy has been very clear. This income gives the team more confidence and greater room for maneuver in the final stage of the transfer window to complete key reinforcements.

In this wave of sales, players trained at La Masia once again played a leading role. Faced with the high demands of the first team, not all young players can immediately secure a place, and Barcelona's approach has gradually become fixed: while completing transfers or loans, they always retain a share of future resale and, in some cases, include buy-back clauses.

With only half a month left in the transfer window, Barcelona is still seeking exits for academy players such as Hector Fort, Marc M. Casado, Tommy Macks, Guille Fernandez, and Tony Fernandez. The idea remains the same: secure transfer income upfront while retaining a share of any future resale.

Adding up the transfer fees these players could bring in, Barcelona is expected to easily exceed 100 million euros. Casado is expected to bring in at least 30 million euros, while for the remaining players, the club hope to secure as high a percentage of future resale shares as possible to maintain long-term control.

This stable income from Hector Fort is crucial for Barcelona’s sporting department as it pushes for key signings at the end of the transfer window: bringing in a top striker, reinforcing the midfield with Rodri, and strengthening the center-back position. Barcelona has sold well, income continues to flow in, and the most critical stage of the transfer window is progressing as planned.
