Barcelona indicate Camp Nou return pushed back to October

Barcelona’s seemingly never-ending saga over a Camp Nou return has taken another twist ahead of the La Liga restart.

Hansi Flick’s side return from the international break with seven points gained from their opening three league outings.

The first game back, at home to Valencia has been long scheduled as their first appearance back at the redeveloped Camp Nou, in front of a limited capacity crowd.

However, the ongoing delays and battle with local authorities over relevant licences has meant a change of plan, with the clash against Los Che now being played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff on September 14.

That has kickstarted a rolling clock on when Barcelona can return home, with La Liga asking to be kept updated immediately, ahead of a home game against Getafe on September 21.

If Barcelona do manage to navigate through the latest barrier, that match could and should be their big return, but confidence over that actually happening is low.

As per the latest from Mundo Deportivo, plans are already in place to host Getafe at their temporary Estadi Johan Cruyff base, to avoid any last minute drama.

The report claims the RFEF have agreed to postpone Barça Atlètic vs. Castellón B until Monday, September 22, 2025, because the stadium would have been in use by the first team just 24 hours before.

That shows the conversation has already taken place with little news on the latest Camp Nou progression.

A looming deadline is approaching from there with UEFA demanding assurances over where Champions League games will be played up until the end of 2025.

Defending champions PSG are due in Catalonia for a blockbuster battle on October 1, in what will be decisive over the next phase of Barcelona’s return, but clarity on the situation remains in short supply as Barcelona scramble for short term fixes in the interim period.
