On Wednesday, it was widely reported that Xavi Hernandez will be staying on as head coach of Barcelona for next season. In January, the 44-year-old announced his intention to step down in the summer, but he has now been convinced to remain in the position until the end of his contract.
Official announcement of the news is expected to be portrayed by Joan Laporta on Thursday, but his number two has jumped the gun. Rafa Yuste, Barcelona vice-president, has confirmed that Xavi will be staying on as manager for another 12 months, as per Fabrizio Romano.
“Xavi will stay, he’s really happy. We’ve never opened talks for any other coach. Also, Deco trusts Xavi, that’s a guarantee.”
Xavi will be able to reveal his thoughts on the situation when he speaks to the media this weekend before Barcelona’s fixture with Valencia on Monday night. The press will certainly be eager to get his views, as the managerial saga comes to an end in Catalonia.

Xavi hanandez Barcelona Tactical Flaws . Xavi hanandez team lacks intensity and tactical balance, I commend xavi for the la liga trophy he won with this Barcelona team when they were at their worst period, a former legend comes back that alone will motivate players to there limit ,i think Barcelona won the la liga not base on tactics but based on defense + mentality to impress the legend coach and obviously the sad fans whom has endured without a la Liga trophy for some seasons before xavi came along but mentality without tactics can only last for little time, this might be the highest and only achievement xavi made as a barca coach, because it's almost his 3 years stay in this club but he is yet to implement a high quality tactics to push his team going forward ,in as much as i love la liga if he plays like this in the epl he would have been exposed just like Manchester United and Chelsea , Remember how poor the team was in the Europa League even when they thought they easily should to have won at least one of the europa league they crashed out . Before you give squad excuses or lack of fund, remember xavi won the league with lesser quality squad, but now he has made more signings and has more quality squad than the year he won la liga but he is still struggling. Barca moves the ball very slow , I don't know why he cant even see that himself despite watching the match clips over and over after the match, they move the ball sluggishly from side to side ,at times they don't even sprint while moving this ball around, sometimes u can even predict the direction they will pass the ball even before they pass it , no surprise attack , they just move the ball to the wing then attempt a crossing which is most times poorly delivered,or they move the to the wings and hope individual brilliance of a player, They don't play 1-2 touch pass , how can a team dominate in the pitch without making 1-2 touch fast pass , results are very important i know good football has not favored Barcelona most times in the last few years but it never an excuse to give up on good quality football which is what Barcelona is known for,if not for the good football which Barcelona is known for they wont be any where compared with realmadrid based on result or trophy, even most football fans would rate liverpool and bayern over them historically. When u watch man city, Liverpool, madrid , Bayern play they are period or time in the match when the tempo of the match is high they make only 1 touch or 2 touch on the ball then release it , they just position well once they receive d ball with there first touch they pass the ball immediately with there second touch, this makes the team move the ball moves very fast with high intensity, but xavi Barcelona never does this ,its as if he doesn't even this exist, watch the teams i mentioned above when they play, their are period in the match when they do this . Again xavi Barcelona doesn't play 1-2 passes in the 18 box to confuse the opponent back 4 ,they just push the ball to the wings they try to get the ball to there target man lewandosky ,but football doesn't work like that any more ,u hv to have a tactics that opens up the opponent from every side of the pitch, not just trying to open the opponent with one tactics only or from just one side , Xavi hanandez has potential to be a good coach given his ability as a player but he still has a lot to learn ,i feel like he still has lot of coaching class to meet up with, he is not capable of taking Barcelona to where they deserve to be.
