Barcelona want to sign the new 'Austrian Messi'

Barcelona are among the teams chasing Yosuf Demir, who is being dubbed the 'Austrian Messi'.

The left-footed Rapid Vienna attacker has been attracting attention from clubs such as Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

ESPN have reported Barcelona's interest, while Kronen Zeitung have revealed that the Blaugrana are prepared to part with between six and eight million euros for the 17-year-old.

Rapid have decided to sell the promising youngster this summer as his contract expires in 2022 and a renewal looks unlikely.

Demir can play anywhere in attack and shines with his ball control and shooting prowess, although he still needs to work on the defensive side of his game.

He made his first-team debut in 2019 after graduating from Rapid's own academy and has six goals and two assists in 24 games this season.
