As ever, the end of the football season is followed by the transfer market, an event that sees Europe's elite clubs take control and the others follow suit depending on their actions. This summer is no different and Real Madrid have been the early movers, but Barcelona need to act fast and plenty of departures are planned at the Camp Nou.
Considering how their season ended, you could be forgiven for thinking a number of players in the squad suffered dips in their market values, but it's not quite so and the overall value of their first team squad is only down about 6.5 million euros compared to after the 2017/18 campaign, which is an insignificant sum when the overall value exceeds 1,000 million euros.
Eight of the squad have seen their value rise - Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Jasper Cillessen, Clement Lenglet, Nelson Semedo, Jean-Clair Todibo, Arthur Melo, Carles Alena and Ousmane Dembele - while 13 players have seen theirs fall - Samuel Umtiti, Gerard Pique, Thomas Vermaelen, Jordi Alba, Sergi Roberto, Sergio Busquets, Ivan Rakitic, Rafinha Alcantara, Arturo Vidal, Philippe Coutinho, Lionel Messi, Malcom and Luis Suarez.
Coutinho and Dembele
Barcelona's two most expensive signings in their history and both are on the market, with the plan being that one leaves this summer and the preference is to move on from the Brazilian.
But Dembele's value has increased by 25 percent from 80m euros to 100m euros, while Coutinho's poor performances have seen his price drop from 100m euros to 90m euros.
The signings
Of those who arrived last summer, none have impressed more than Arthur and Lenglet. Both can feel satisfied with their year's work and with their contribution to the team.
Barcelona paid 36m euros for the defender and he's now valued at 60m euros, while the Brazilian's value has more than doubled from 31m euros to 70m euros.
The battle against age
As is expected, all players over the age of 30 - Cillessen aside - saw their market worth drop and not even Messi can prevent the natural depreciation that comes with age.
The most striking of these is Busquets, whose value dropped by 38 percent from 80m euros to 50m euros.
