Bartomeu confirms Messi can leave 'whenever he wants' but believes the captain will continue.
'Messi can leave whenever he wants. He has gained freedom over his future.' says Bartomeu.
'But I have no doubt that he will continue. Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol had this contract as well.'

Bartomeu insisted that Barcelona do everything possible to make sure that Messi plays alongside the best at the Camp Nou.
"Each year we do everything and more to try to make our members happy," Bartomeu said.
"Each year we've built a better squad than the one before, although it's also true that we've had bad matches like against Roma or Liverpool.
"Moving to Barcelona and competing with people like [Sergio] Busquets, [Luis] Suarez or Messi is very difficult because they're the best.
"They've won eight of the last 11 LaLiga Santander titles, they've won UEFA Super Cups, Cops del Rey.
"Each year we do everything and more to be competitive."

I know that Messi will leave Barca one day, but I did not know it is drawing closer, Messi has been one of Barca greatest asset, it is was miracle for Barca to have him, and him leaving will cause a massive blow for the team for the fans, we know Messi gave his all every year, we can't blame and we can't force him to stay, he is a Barca player, and he chose to leave or not, but am confident he can play for Barca in the next four or three years to come, I hope by that time a talent like him would be in la masia, good luck Messi.

I think Barcelona is trying to chase out messi in an indirect way, he's becoming old and they need a lot of money from him like businessmen but they're scared to say that. Barcelona is giving him freedom to go and their have a better squad now

Messi wont leave because : 1_ when he was a kid he had a health problem and Barcelona helped him a lot by much money , 2_ he will get hated by Barcelona fans and prob all the world ,3_ he has a good playstyle in LaLiga so it will be hard to get used to play in premier League or some where else ,(thats my opinion as a Real Madrid fan ) if you agree with me like this comment

This people have totally destroyed Barcelona honestly, before they came in i used to be 100% confident every time we are playing, yes sometimes we lost and draw but i was always confident of my team but now I can't even bet my money that Barcelona will win against Valencia in next match. That's how bad we have become.
