Bartomeu: We did everything possible for Neymar, he'll not join Barca in January

Barcelona president Bartomeu lifts lid on Neymar saga after failed summer move.

"PSG opened the door for Neymar, then we began negotiations to know of if we can bring him but as an addition, because the team was already ready." said Bartomeu.

"I decided to bet on bringing Neymar back because we wanted to have the best team & market opportunity. We did everything we could to sign Neymar. We never offered players for Neymar. It was the PSG who asked for them."

Without an exchange of players, the offer was to loan Neymar for a year with a mandatory buy option at the end of the season.'

'Messi didn't ask me to sign Neymar, we did everthing possible. Neymar does not enter our plans for in January."

"Barça always make sporting decisions, the sports administration were interested when they saw Neymar on market. Now, there will be people who are not happy because he didn't join and some will be happy that he stayed in PSG."
