DFB-Pokal holders Bayern Munich fought into the last eight with a 4-3 win over fellow Bundesliga side Hoffenheim at Allianz Arena.

Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller impressed but Bayern Munich made hard work of beating Hoffenheim 4-3 to reach the DFB-Pokal quarter-finals.
Holders Bayern appeared to be cruising into the last eight when Lewandowski put them 3-1 up at half-time on Wednesday, yet a lacklustre second-half showing gave Hoffenheim – who had taken the lead through Jerome Boateng’s own goal – unexpected hope.
Bayern had quickly levelled when Benjamin Hubner put through his own goal before Muller – who had a hand in all three of the hosts' first-half goals – nosed them ahead.
Lewandowski's second made it 4-1 with 10 minutes to go before Munas Dabbur's late double set up the possibility of unlikely comeback that just fell short as Bayern ultimately did enough to book their progress.

After a surging run down the right wing by Gnabry, his deflected shot fell to Muller who squared it for Lewandowski to turn into an empty net from close range.
The referee’s assistant, however, had his flag up for offside against Muller and the goal is ruled out.

Hoffenheim take the lead! Bayern sloppily lost the ball deep inside their own half before Neuer was called into action to keep out Bruun Larsen’s long-range strike.
Grillitsch was quickest to react and found Bebou in space, who saw his right-footed effort from the right side of the box deflect off Boateng and into the top left corner.

Bayern are level just four minutes after falling behind! Davies makes a wonderful overlapping run down the left to get on the end of a well-weighted throughball before sliding a low cross into the box.
Lewandowski looks to attack it, but Hubner gets there first and inadvertently puts the ball into his own net.

The hosts take the lead! Alaba receives the ball just inside the away team’s half and spots the run of Muller ahead of him.
The Austrian whips in an incredibly inviting cross for the German to nod past Pentke from the centre of the box.
24' CHANCE! Lewandowski's shot stopped by Pentke
Coutinho finds himself in space down the left and manages to pick out a cross.
The floated delivery falls to Lewandowski who, while on the turn, fires straight at Pentke from just a few yards out.

Gnabry is found by Coutinho down the right-hand side of the box and sees his well-struck shot stopped by Pentke who was quickly down to his near post to deny the German.

Lewandowski adds another for Bayern! In a deep position, Alaba sends a searching ball in behind the away side’s defence for Muller to attack.
The German nods the pass high into the air and, after Pentke came out but failed to claim it, Lewandowski is free to head into an empty net from the middle of the box.

Kimmich’s corner from the right is sent in towards the penalty area. Lewandowski gets a good connection on the delivery with his head, and Pentke tips the ball over the bar for another corner.

Flick’s side launch a quick counter down the right-hand side of the field which ends with Muller looking to chip the ball over Pentke from distance.
The German’s delicate shot, however, lands on the roof of the net.

Kramaric once again looks to turn provider as he drives a low cross into the box from the right flank. Prior to firing beyond Neuer from close range, Hubner controlled the ball with his hand and the goal is ruled out.

Lewandowski grabs his second! The Polish striker got across his man at the front post to nod Kimmich’s in-swinging corner from the left beyond Pentke from close range.
82' GOAL! Bayern 4-2 Hoffenheim (Dabour)
Hoffenheim pull one back! Zuber picks the ball up down the left-hand side of the area, gets it onto his left foot and slides a throughball into the path of Dabbur. The substitute picks his head up and fires an effort into the bottom left corner. Neuer stood on chance.
92' GOAL! Bayern 4-3 Hoffenheim (Dabour)
Kramaric drives forward down the right-hand side of the field and curls a throughball towards Dabbur who was making a run through the centre of the field.
Pavard turns the ball onto his own post and the Israeli forward is quickest to react as he emphatically fires past Neuer from the middle of the area. Game on!
