Bayern Munich 'exploring move' for Liverpool star Rio Ngumoha, 17, after breakthrough season

Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha is of interest to Bayern Munich this summer, with the Reds determined not to sell, according to a report.

The 17-year-old, who has played 19 times for Liverpool in what was a breakthrough season, is viewed as one of the most highly-rated prospects in Europe having joined his current side from Chelsea in 2024.

After a successful campaign, he earned a nomination for the Premier League's Young Player of the Year award and also a call-up with England to be part of their training group ahead of the World Cup.

And, now, he could be on his way to Germany to link up with Three Lions captain Harry Kane, who is the star of Bayern Munich.

According to The Athletic, Ngumoha is being closely monitored by the German champions, who are managed by Vincent Kompany and reached the Champions League semi-finals this season.

It is reported that Bayern are looking at a number of options to bolster their attack, with Ngumoha their main target for the left side - which is currently occupied by former Liverpool man Luis Diaz.

Liverpool are looking to improve their own attack after a season of struggle that saw them finish fifth in the Premier League and sack Arne Slot.

Cody Gakpo and Ngumoha are their usual options on the left, with the latter penning his first professional deal in September, which runs until 2028.

The likes of Yan Diomande have been linked to strengthen the wide areas, with Mohamed Salah departing and Federico Chiesa likely on his way out too.

It is expected that Ngumoha is pencilled in to play a key part under new head coach Andoni Iraola, who joined Liverpool on Thursday.
