Bayern Munich have already given up on the idea of keeping David Alaba. The versatile Austrian's contract ends in June and he has rejected a number of offers put to him by the German champions.
With him looking set to join Real Madrid, Bayern have been left to look elsewhere.
Now, it looks as though they have already identified the man they want to replace him, RB Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano.
"I know that Bayern have been in contact with Upamecano's agent and that talks are advanced," said journalist Alfred Draxler to Sport 1.
But the signing won't be easy. Chelsea are also thought to be interested in the 22-year-old, who is under contact until 2023.
There are reports, however, that he has a release clause of 42 million euros.

For now I believe Hansi Flick should prefer Lucas Hernandez at LB over Alphonso Davies for a few couple of games. He has not been that fantastic since recovering from injury. He should consider resting Manuel Neuer as well and start Alexander Nubel for at least 2 Bundesliga games in a row.Neuer really needs some rest from the starting line-up and Nubel on the other hand is a brilliant goalkeeper whom they brought in from Schalke. He is too good to just sit on the bench! He's got massive potential and needs to play!
