Bayern Munich are in position to finalize a deal for Lille's Nicolas Pepe, according to Le10 Sport.
Discussions have taken place between the German club, the French side and Pepe's representatives, and, although no deal has been reached, negotiations have moved forward.
Bayern are seen as the leaders, but Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are also both involved in the pursuit of the Ivory Coast winger.
Lille manager Christophe Galtier has admitted that avoiding the sale of Nicolas Pepe to a European rival will be “difficult”.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed a remarkable season with the Ligue 1 club and has been linked to a number of sides, including Bayern Munich and Arsenal.
Lille currently sit second in the French top-flight, behind Paris Saint-Germain, after being embroiled in a relegation battle last season.

Since the deal of Odoi Hudson slipped from the grasp of bayern this winter, I see Pepe is the most suitable replacement for him, the board has to push harder to seduce the Ivorian young star to join Bayern, with due respect to Barça I do not think he will fit there, it is just my POV since Malcolm is finding it hard to make it in the XI team, and I think Pepe is aware of the difficulty and the challenge in the Catalobian squad , so if Bayern signs him this summer and activates the Purchase of James and Buying Lucas Hernandes and Pavard, Bayern is gonna get stronger especially if they add a classic Striker, I am glad the board is taking everything serious to strengthen the entire squad as we look forward to challenge Europe.
