Bayern Munich expect to be without Konrad Laimer for several weeks after the right-back sustained a calf tear during Wednesday's 3-1 win at Koln.
During the victory, which saw Bayern match their own record for the best start to a Bundesliga season (47 points after 17 matches), Laimer appeared to sustain a lower leg injury.
Bayern boss Vincent Kompany said afterwards that while knocks to team-mates Harry Kane and Hiroki Ito did not appear to be serious, Laimer would undergo a scan.
And on Thursday, Bayern confirmed that the 28-year-old had torn a muscle in his left calf and will be absent "for the foreseeable future."
Reports have suggested Laimer could miss between two and eight weeks, depending on the severity of the tear, which would give Kompany a selection headache at right-back.
Bayern are short of alternative options in the position with Josip Stanisic and Joshua Kimmich already sidelined, while Laimer has been a reliable contributor in 2025-26.
The Austria international has made 30 appearances for Bayern this season, starting 25 times, with only Kane and Michael Olise (32 apiece) featuring more often for Kompany's side.
Laimer has scored two goals and provided seven assists, with only Olise (15), Luis Diaz and Serge Gnabry (both 10) topping that latter figure.
