Beckham has five days not to lose his stadium property

David Beckham and Inter Miami have five days to pay 900,000 dollars if they want to keep the land for the construction of his Overtown stadium.

The Florida Supreme Court ruled in favor of David Beckham and Inter Miami to avoid getting into a legal fight over land the English star wanted for his Miami soccer stadium, however, to keep the Overtown lands Beckham Group needs to pay about $900,000 for the three-acre property under contract.

Beckham Group already owns six acres of the nine total, with the remaining three still owned by Miami-Dade County with the owners having a contract for 9 million dollars, but have only paid a $450,000 down payment.

The activist, Bruce Matheson filled a lawsuit questioning the sale of said lands, as according to him, it was an agreement without bidding, and for that reason, they couldn't sell the lands.

Nevertheless, Beckham still has to pay around 900,000 dollars due in 5 days in case he still wants to get this property, because there is a clause imposed that to maintain this contract an exact payment of 901,500 USD has to be made. Also, the deal requires for the Beckham group to build a soccer stadium on the property, and it's unclear if Miami-Dade would allow or entertain other options for the property.

Lockhart Stadium

On May 3, Inter Miami gained license to build what will be their new home in Fort Lauderdale, with the demolition of the legendary Lockhart Stadium already in motion, waiting for it to be as shown in the plans showed by Beckham's group.
