According to Mundo Deportivo, Neymar asked Barcelona if he could return to the club before his injury.
He spoke to players, staff and the board of Barca to explore the possibility of returning. He admits that joining PSG was a mistake and wishes to return in the summer of 2019.
PSG paid Barcelona 222 million euros ($ 820 million in the quotation at the time) to hire and make Neymar the most expensive player in history. An opposing movement would require a financial operation as costly as or more expensive than that of August 2017.
In Barcelona, Neymar scored 105 goals in 186 games between 2013 and 2017. For PSG, he has 28 goals in 30 matches. The Brazilian is recovering from surgery to heal a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot and should return to the lawn only in May, a month away from the World Cup.

If I was Barcelona I would not take him back, after putting them further down the rabbit hole in what was already a disappointing season is just cruel. I think it is clear and obvious to all of us that Barcelona are far better this season than they were last season, even though they don't have Neymar. Even Messi himself pointed it out when he said "Barcelona are more balanced without Neymar..." If Barcelona don't take him back, it will teach him a lesson to remain more loyal and experienced throughout his career while also benefiting themselves. And this is coming from a Real Madrid fan... Nevertheless I still hope he at least makes the final in the World Cup

Though articles are written for sale by some journalists I think I can digest this one be it rumors or true because before he dint watch football since he was in one of those biggest clubs and leagues but now he watches and enjoys the big clubs playing that makes him wish to return but he left in such that he thought he will never return to barca. For advice I would tell him explore other options like going to Madrid or those big clubs in the premier league.

Neymar is a player who I respect a lot and I can't deny him leaving last summer was left a bitter taste in my tongue. Am very sure this story is only a rumour but if he wants to come back I know velverde and all the important officials in Barcelona will accept him because they will think of the team first before any personal rift and we all know what a talent Neymar his. He will always be a great asset and addition to any team. The team being more balance without him is a result of Velverde coaching skills and techniques and am quite sure he will still be able to make sure of that balance with NEYMAR in the team.
