'Being here is a dream', says new Barcelona recruit Bisiwu

New Barcelona recruit Jesse Bisiwu cannot wait to see the club's iconic Camp Nou home in person, rather than on television, after joining from Club Brugge. 

The 18-year-old winger, who has been capped by Belgium at under-17 level, was unveiled as a Blaugrana player on Tuesday after Brugge accepted a reported €8.5m fee for his services.

Bisiwu has signed a five-year contract with the Blaugrana, becoming their third attacking signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi.

Bisiwu, who never made a competitive appearance for Brugge's senior team, will likely have a limited role in Hansi Flick's plans for 2026-27.

But he is determined to learn from those around him as he attempts to realise his childhood dream of playing at Camp Nou.

"I had seen Camp Nou on TV, but not yet in person. Being here and seeing it for myself is a different feeling. I'm very happy to be here," he said.

"When I was young, I always dreamed of playing for a big club like Barca, so being here is a dream for me. I have been welcomed by a great family.

"Hansi has treated me very well, we have had some talks, and it is very easy to understand what I have to do this year – work very hard and learn as much as possible."

Barca visit Elche for their opening game of the LaLiga season on August 23, as they attempt to win a third domestic title in as many seasons under Flick.
