Ben Foster has revealed a secret website that only Nike athletes have access to.
Foster called time on his professional playing career at the start of the season following a brief spell at Wrexham, but featured for the likes of Manchester United and Watford during his time as a goalkeeper.
Since his retirement he has launched his own podcast and entered the world of football media and content creation.
As a player, he enjoyed time sponsored by Nike, one of the biggest brands worldwide and in sport.
And speaking on an episode of his Fozcast podcast, the 40-year-old explained how athletes sponsored by the brand can get exclusive looks at some of the products.
‘You all get given a rep,’ Foster said. ‘Normally, it's somebody that would look after the football club, so that one guy would come in once every month, or when there's new releases.
‘He would go around all the Nike athletes and would basically show them the new boot, showing them what's coming up and asking if they need anything.
‘It's all changed now though. There is a secret website for Nike athletes, where they will have a login and password. They can go on and basically just order what they want.
‘They've all got an account which will be credited with a load of money and they just get to dig in. It's pretty cool, to be fair.’
Nike partner with hundreds of athletes worldwide, including the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Leah Williamson and LeBron James.
Some of the deals have spanned over several decades - Tiger Woods has been a Nike athlete since 1996 - and are worth millions of pounds.
Ronaldo, who picked up a lifetime deal in 2016, is reportedly paid nearly £19million a year to partner Nike.
