Karim Benzema and Thibaut Courtois are well on their way to claiming the awards for the top scorer and the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets, should they continue as they have so far this season.
Real Madrid have led the way so far in this season's LaLiga Santander, and they currently find themselves six points ahead of Sevilla at the top of the table after 25 games.
Last time out they beat Alaves 3-0 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu, with the manner of their win putting two of their stars on track to win personal accolades come the end of the campaign.
Carlo Ancelotti's side have taken the initiative so far this season by taking games to their opposition, with a clear eye fixed on becoming champions again.
Benzema out in front
Benzema scored the final goal in Los Blancos' 3-0 win from the penalty spot in second-half stoppage time, a goal which puts him in a good positive to win the Pichichi (top scorer) award.
The Frenchman is out front in terms of goals, with 18 so far in LaLiga Santander this season, five more than second-placed Raul de Tomas of Espanyol and Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Junior.
Alaves' Joselu is enjoying a fruitful season with 12 goals, the same amount as Real Betis' Juanmi, but it looks that Benzema will not be caught.
Clean sheets for Courtois
Looking at Courtois, like Benzema he is making a good go at ending the season with a personal accolade to his name.
In the 2019/20 season the Belgian shot-stopper won the Zamora trophy after conceding only 20 goals in 34 games.
Last season Atletico Madrid's Jan Oblak won the award, but as it stands Courtois could be on his way to win the award again.
So far Courtois has conceded on average 0.8 goals per game, which is bettered by Athletic Club's Unai Simon (0.76), who has played four games fewer than the Real Madrid 'keeper.
History makers
Should both Benzema and Courtois win their respective Pichichi and Zamora trophies at the end of the season, then they will make history in doing so.
The last time Real Madrid had players to win both awards came in the 1987/88 season, when Hugo Sanchez topped the standings with 29 goals scored and Paco Buyo conceded just 23 goals in 35 games.
