Jose Mourino and Paul Pogba should resolve their differences in private and not through the media, according to former Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov.
The relationship between the United boss and his most expensive player has become increasingly strained in recent days.
Pogba, who reportedly wants to leave Old Trafford and join Barcelona, said after Saturday's home draw with Wolves that United should 'attack, attack, attack', leading to Mourinho stripping the midfielder of the vice-captaincy.
Mourinho denied any fall-out with Pogba but footage has emerged of a tense-looking discussion between the pair at training on Wednesday morning.
The 25-year-old shook hands with coach Michael Carrick and another United employee, before looking taken aback by something Mourinho said.
Pogba was then seen having an apparently exasperated discussion with the manager.
Berbatov, a striker at Old Trafford between 2008 and 2012, told Betfair: 'If you are a captain or vice-captain, you're more often than not speaking on behalf of the players, and there is nothing wrong with giving the manager your thoughts.
'But this shouldn't be done in the media - it helps nobody for these arguments to be played out in public. Apart from the media themselves of course!
'In modern football, players are very powerful, they are the stars of the show. It's normal for them to have opinions, but they need to be backed up.
'I'm really surprised it has got to this stage. This sort of thing really needs to be kept in-house. You're all grown-ups, figure it out in the dressing room.
'For Mourinho to have gone as far as removing the vice captaincy, Pogba must have provoked him - whether it was the comments after the Wolves game or something else. But these arguments affect everybody else and start having an impact on the pitch.
'As someone who wants Manchester United to do well, I'm fed up of waking up and seeing these headlines. Football should be about what happens on the pitch, not who has the biggest d***. It's a stupid situation.'

Pogba is a bad influence. He is not professional in all his conducts. What does he expect from someone who signed him on to win games for him? He is not consistent. He complaint is a complexity. He knows he cannot perform. The tries to settle wit him. He made Pogba captain by giving him responsibilities. This is based on trust. He also denied the rift between the on the media meanwhile, Pogba is behaving like elementary student on social media. If he knows his worth he should perform and shame Jose. He is not rated at all as good footballer. Lukaku is far better than him.

Pogba should go to Barca. It's bcos of increase salaries that was the genesis of this crisis. Especially when Alex Sachez joined MANU. Jose has accommodated Pogba bcos he still believe in him. Jose denied the rift between them in the Media. He also gave him responsibilities by been the captain. But instead Pogba to him back based on the confident the coach repose on him, he continues his unprofessional attitudes. By not not being consistent and criticising his boss. How many footballers in the whole wide world do criticising their boss. Ask John Terry, Lampard and Drogba and many of them.

It is not about calling the two. It is either Pogba getting some sense and seriously apologising to the coach and all Man U lovers or him being kicked out of the club. He was sold out by SAF. With the sort of attitude we reading in the media you do not expect him to have any respectb and listen to advice from SAF or anybody else. Unless he learns to change and act as a mature man and professional he is doomed. I cannot imagine any club tolerating his conduct. Who knows? Maybe he has a curse playing for Man U. I cannot comprehend that SAF was wrong in having to sell him off to Juve and now again Jose is wrong and he is the one who is always right. Let him learn from the likes of Beckham and the like what happens when you decide to differ with your manager! Better stars have been at the club and have gone but the club persists. LET POGBA LEARN TO BE HUMBLE. I like him but not his character as displayed in the last two months. I am certain he would never had become what he is if this sort of character had been shown at Juve.
