Kylian Mbappe's Paris Saint-Germain exit might not be as certain as it had once seemed and the French forward could yet remain at the Parc des Princes.
Without having signed a renewal, Mbappe will be able to speak to other clubs from January 1 to agree a free transfer for the summer, but PSG will still be hoping to tie him down to another long-term deal.
"I'm not sure he'll leave Paris at the end of the season," former PSG goalkeeper Bernard Lama has said about Mbappe's situation.
"What's more, I'd advise him to stay on for a few more years, because he has dreams to fulfil and one of those is to take part in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
"He's still at the start of his career, he's well advised and shouldn't rush. He's already a global star and, in a few years, without [Lionel] Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, he'll be the star of world football."
PSG remain hopeful of getting the player to sign an extension, but time is running out before January 1 arrives and they will have plenty of competition, most notably from Real Madrid, for Mbappe's services from 2022/23 on.
