Everybody says united lost so that Liverpool won't win the league but it really shows how much faith united fans have in Liverpool thinking that they can possibly win... Did united also lose 4-0 to Everton so Liverpool don't win the league?? What a joke... You lost because city outplayed you they are the better team... United fans trying to save face from embarrassment cos they already knew they would lose... Never will you lift a trophy again

Guys, though I watch more Bundesliga and La Piga, allow me to post some comments. Manchester United's problems lie dip. For this club to prosper they need to get rid of the "Alex Ferguson-era" hangover. Those days are long gone! With all due respect to the coaches who have been at Man-U post-Alex Ferguson, he had a hand in all their appointments; David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Jose Mourinho and even Ole Gunnar Solskjaer! Ole even severally has sought Alex's input in training and more! These needs to stop! Man-U needed to go out and get a coach with an independent attitude who would build a new team with a new identity and be respected by the players and coaches - someone like Massimiliano Allegri or Mauricio Pochettino. Cole's appointment was more sentimental/emotional than anything else. Why did they not even interview other possible candidates? Ole keeps talking about bringing back the Alex Ferguson aura - excuse me! Get over that please, if you want to succeed built your own foundation! Unfortunately Ole's too inexperienced to handle a club of Man-U's standing - no disrespect but that's the truth. The way he insists on playing less than average players like Phil Jones, Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, David De Gea even when it is evident that they are poor is baffling! Just because they have Man-U DNA? Crap! Pogba does not want to play for Man-U - out with him to God's sake! De Gea has been poor all season but it is baffling how he gets game time week in, week out! Shocking that after a poor display against Barcelona he was fielded against Everton and still after another poor display in this game he was fielded against Man City! Says a lot about the culture at Man-U, it's like certain players have to play. 3 games in 7 days, 9 goals conceeded, same goalie! Yet there's an Argentinian international on the bench!
Sorry to say this but the suggested appointment of Mike Phelan as Director of Football won't help matters - it's this Ferguson-era syndrome again, that they have to get someone who knows the club! Get someone independent with no background of the club and qualified enough to make professional calls on recruitment, release of underperforming players etc! Do you expect Mike Phelan to sign off release of players like Smelling, Jones, Young etc? He will say something like 'these players are heart & soul of Manchester United' blah, blah, blah . . . .
Ed Woodward needs to step aside and a new hierarchy to come in to rescue this club otherwise it's going nowhere!
