Amiri was left out of Germany head coach Jürgen Klopp's squad for the final two Nations League matches. For the Mainz 05 player, missing out after featuring at the World Cup in North America and during the national team's fresh start was particularly bitter.
Amiri himself recently admitted that he has been out of form. Mainz 05 coach Urs Fischer was candid with the midfielder: disappointment is understandable, but Amiri must not react emotionally. Instead, he has to show through his performances that the national team coach may have made a mistake.
