Niclas Füllkrug played upfront in Wednesday's training session while the other players were constantly being rotated. Even within the team, they now expect Füllkrug to start against Denmark tomorrow.

Germany will face Denmark in the round of 16 in the European Championship on Saturday. Ahead of the match, Germany is missing suspended center-back Jonathan Tah, while fellow center-back Antonio Rüdiger is a question mark, with German newspaper Bild earlier this week stating that the Real Madrid cog could miss the eighth due to injury.

Now Bild comes with new information that everything points to forward Niclas Füllkrug starting in the round of 16. The Borussia Dortmund player has so far scored two goals in three appearances, and is now expected to start. According to Bild, however, it is uncertain whether it will be Kai Havertz, who started as a forward in all games, or whether it will be Florian Wirtz who is pushed. According to the newspaper, Havertz could also be moved down to midfield.

Previously, Bild stated that Nico Schlotterbeck is expected to replace Tah, while Robin Koch or Waldemar Anton could come in instead of Rüdiger.

Germany's national team captain Julian Nagelsmann had the same eleven in all three group stage matches, but now there are expected to be changes.
