Juve are being linked with a move for Maldini, who is the son of Milan legend Paolo Maldini.
Braida, now vice-president of Ravenna, told Tuttosport: "I feel affection for him.
"And I must say he's proven to be a talented guy."
On how Juve fans would take to supporting a Maldini, Braida also said: "I think the Maldini family history is too important: it would go beyond any incident.
"His grandfather won the first European Cup, Paolo won the last. All the major trophies have passed through that dynasty.
"So history will play a role. And it could even help him."
