Everton kept themselves level on points with fellow European contenders Brentford, thanks to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's 91st-minute strike in a 2-2 draw.
Match Report
Dewsbury-Hall had earlier squandered a golden chance to put Everton ahead at the Gtech Community Stadium, but he made no such mistake with his second opportunity.
The Toffees, who sit eighth in the Premier League, one spot behind Brentford, twice had to come from behind in a thrilling contest on Saturday.
Igor Thiago got the ball rolling with a third-minute penalty, which was given after Jordan Pickford lunged in on Kevin Schade after just 78 seconds.
Yet after Caoimhin Kelleher pulled off a fantastic double save to deny Idrissa Gueye and Beto, the latter headed home to restore parity.
Schade and Nathan Collins hit the crossbar either side of half-time, while Pickford and Jarrad Branthwaite made vital interventions to keep the scores level, before Dewsbury-Hall hesitated when one-on-one with Kelleher.
Thiago deflected Michael Kayode's strike in soon after, but Everton showed plenty of fight, and after Tyrique George had tested Kelleher, Dewsbury-Hall lashed in to level when a deflected Jake O'Brien shot fell into his path.
Data Debrief: Toffees tormented by Thiago
That is now five goals in two Premier League games against Everton this season for Thiago, who netted a hat-trick in a 4-2 Brentford win at Hill Dickinson Stadium in January.
He is the first player to net five times against Everton in a single Premier League campaign, while his 21 goals for this term is a record in a campaign in the competition for the Bees, surpassing the 20 previously managed by Ivan Toney and Bryan Mbeumo.
While Thiago showed his usual confidence from the spot, his second goal was fortuitous. However, the impressive Schade was not so lucky, as he did not manage to get any of his four attempts on target.
Brentford finish with 2.37 expected goals to Everton's 1.52, though Thiago's penalty is responsible for a good chunk of the Bees' total.
Everton are unbeaten in their last four away league games against Brentford (W1 D3), more games without losing than in their previous nine against the Bees (W1 D2 L6).
